Adsense Video Units Comedy

Greetings fellow Wealth Vibers,

Google has a new program called Adsense Video Units for website owners that allows you (in theory) to create a video player that will play videos targeted to your audience. Great, I thought!

I immediately set out to create an adsense video unit that would be targeted with meditation and affirmation videos. I inputed keywords like spiritual, meditation, the Secret movie, the Law of Attraction, abundance, affirmations, etc... What was the result? Not exactly what I had hoped for to say the least...

I went through the process of creating the player and importing the keywords that would pull the targeted videos. I uploaded the video to my site and voila! - Instant horror and comedy all in one!

One of the scenes from the first video that played was of a young child sitting on Santa's lap asking for a pony. The next scene is of the said child waking up in bed with a severed pony's head at the foot of it. Alright, I've got a sense of humor - a big sense of humor in fact - but even for me that was stretching it - especially for a video that is supposed to be going out to an audience interested in self-development and spiritual growth.

Remember, I plugged in the keyword Secret from the Secret movie. The next video that played was about a Secret alright...in this case the Deodorant! The next video had a guy travelling around in a car talking about other video bloggers. Actually mesmerizing in a disturbing sort of way. None of it related to meditation, spirituality or abundance in any way shape or form however.

Today, I went on to see if anything had changed. Today's "meditation" videos featured lingerie models from Victoria's Secrets as well as other model-related videos. I continued watching for research purposes only... :)

I'm guessing the problem is that they don't have enough video creators who are in their video units program and so the amount of videos that they have available is decidely limited in some areas - like meditation, affirmations, spiritual growth, the law of attraction, etc...

Anyway, if you want a laugh, check out my "meditation" videos page created with Adsense Video Units from google. Be warned - I have yet to encounter a single video related to any of the spiritual meditation keywords I put into the system. And, I'll most probably take down this video in the near future so as not to scar any of my readers for life...
